About this object
View of damage caused by flooding, possibly during the Esk Valley floods in April 1938. The photograph has been taken in the vicinity of the Waikoau River in Hawke's Bay. A note on the back of the photograph gives the location as: Waikoau River[,] road about half a mile from Awapawanui turn off towards Wairoa. An underground pipe has been exposed by the floodwaters or by a landslip.
