About this object
View of damage caused by flooding, possibly during the Esk Valley floods in April 1938. The photograph has been taken in the vicinity of the Waikoau River in Hawke's Bay. A note on the back of the photograph gives the location as: Waikoau River bend Napier side of elbow where road supported by stone wall (about half way up). The photograph appears to record a large pile of stones that have been dislodged from the hillside. A man poses for the photograph in front of the pile of stones.
