About this object
View of damage caused by flooding, possibly during the Esk Valley floods in April 1938. The photograph has been taken in the vicinity of the Waikoau River in Hawke's Bay. A note on the back of the photograph gives the location as: Waikoau River[,]... 300 yds Wairoa side Bottom of elbow. The photograph records a car trapped in mud. A man leans on the drivers side of the car.
