About this object
View of the North Island's Napier to Gisborne Railway Line taken during the construction of the Waikare Viaduct between Napier and Wairoa. The photograph has been taken from one side of the valley looking across the construction site. A temporary timber tower is located on either side of the valley.

The photograph has been taken prior to the installation of the steel girders indicating that it was taken in the late 1920s.
