Photograph of the Kopuawhara bridge near Mahia along the Napier to Gisborne Railway Line taken in the aftermath of the 1938 flash flood. The photograph shows the damage that was caused by the flood to a railway bridge, possibly over the Kopuawhara Stream. In the foreground the force of the water has dislodged one of the concrete piers.
