(a) The Studio: An Illustrated Magazine of Fine and Applied Art, volume 63, number 259, was published on 15 October 1914 and edited by Charles Holme. This issue is the first part of a new volume. The magazine contains numerous advertisements for galleries, manufacturers, art supplies and art schools, as well as illustrated articles, and exhibition and book reviews. A number of pages are missing from this magazine.
The Contents include: The Grosvenor House Exhibition of French Art, an article by T Martin Wood including eleven illustrations; Some Etchings by Ernest D Roth, an article by E Madden including six illustrations; The Woodcuts of Mr Sydney Lee, an article by Malcolm C Salaman including four illustrations; The Painting of Miss Hilda Fearon, an article by Charles Marriott including seven illustrations; Sketching in Morocco: A Letter from Miss Hilda Rix, five illustrations; Recent Designs in Domestic Architecture, seven illustrations; Studio-Talk, a section devoted to exhibition reviews from correspondents in London, Glasgow, Nottingham, Moscow, Amsterdam, Brussels and Tokyo; Reviews and Notices; The Lay Figure: On Art and War.
