Brief Description
The Studio: An Illustrated Magazine of Fine and Applied Art, volume 61, number 252, was published on 14 March 1914 and edited by Charles Holme. The magazine contains numerous advertisements for galleries, manufacturers, art supplies and art schools, as well as illustrated articles, and exhibition and book reviews. A number of pages are missing from this magazine including, it seems, all colour supplements save one.

The Contents include: The Recent Work of Aman Jean, an article by Achille Segard including nine illustrations; The Water-Colour Drawings of James McBey, an article by Malcolm C Salaman including ten illustrations; A Painter of Out-Door Life: Frederic Whiting, R B A, an article by Arthur Reddie including twelve illustrations; Five Etchings by Dorothy E G Woollard, five illustrations; A Note on the Stained-Glass Windows of Henry A Payne, an article by T M Legge including four illustrations; The Cheap Cottage, an article by M H Baillie Scott including seventeen illustrations; Studio-Talk, a section devoted to exhibition reviews from correspondents in London, Paris, Berlin, Vienna, Florence, Warsaw, Copenhagen, Geneva and Tokyo; Reviews and Notices; The Lay Figure: On Art without an Object.
