Brief Description
The Studio: An Illustrated Magazine of Fine and Applied Art, volume 52, number 218, was published on 15 May 1911 and edited by Charles Holme. This magazine contains numerous advertisements for galleries, manufacturers, art supplies and art schools, as well as illustrated articles, exhibition and book reviews, and information relating to art schools. A number of pages are missing from this magazine including, it seems, all colour supplements.

The Contents include: The Paintings of William Orpen, an article by C H Collins including ten illustrations; The American Colony of Artists in Paris, an article by E A Taylor including seventeen illustrations; The Engraving School at the Royal College of Art, an article by M C Salaman including nine illustrations; Mrs Sydney Bristowe's Water-Colours, an article by C Lewis Hind including six illustrations; The Present Condition of Art in Japan, an article by Jiro Harada including fourteen illustrations; An Indian Portrait Painter: S Rahamim Samuel, an article by M H Spielmann including four illustrations; Recent Designs in Domestic Architecture, including eight illustrations; Studio-Talk, a section devoted to exhibition reviews from correspondents in London, Brighton, Glasgow, Paris, Berlin, Vienna and Moscow; Reviews and Notices; The Lay Figure: On Modern Water Colour Painting.
