Brief Description
(a) The letter is written to David Greig from William Ewart Gladstone. The letterhead reads: Hawarden Castle, Chester. It is dated 7 August 1895.
In the letter Gladstone compliments Greig on his tact on Old Testament criticism and asks for 20 copies to be sent to him.
(b) The envelope is addressed to: Mr David Greig, Cottenham Rectory, Cambridge. In the upper right hand corner is a purple one penny stamp. On top of it is stamped: Chester Station 7 August 1895.
