About this object
View of a screw press at Poporangi Station, near Hastings, thought to have been taken in 1904. The press is being used to pack wool into bales. A note on the back of the photograph states that this was the first wool press to be used at Poporangi Station.

Three unidentified men stand around the press. A pile of empty wool bales are located in the foreground. A completed bale is located on the right side of the photograph.
