View of a pā site near Assassination Cove in the Bay of Islands, possibly taken in 1914. The photograph is thought to have been taken from the shore of the cove looking towards Assassination Cove.
A note on the album page reads: Foot of Jacoury pa , Tokuhau - Mainland. Assination [sic] Cove is hidden by first point - along this line of vision massacre of Marion's [Marc-Joseph Marion du Fresne, 1724-1772] second boat crew 13 June 1772.
