The photograph has been taken near the shoreline of the island looking towards a hill. Grasses grow in the foreground. A note on the album page reads: Moturua Island. Bay where Marion [Marc-Joseph Marion du Fresne (1724-1772)] had camp. Hill over which attacking natives came - May 1772.
