Postcard view of the Clock Tower, Hastings, possibly taken in the 1940s.
Designed by local architect Sydney Chaplin, the Clock Tower was completed in 1935. Gardens have been planted in front of the Clock Tower. A railway line is visible immediately behind the Clock Tower.
The intersection of Heretaunga Street and Russell Street South is visible on the left side of the photograph. The Westerman building, designed by the architect Edmund Anscombe (completed 1932), is located on the right side of the intersection. Cars and pedestrians occupy the street.
