About this object
View of the Waitangi Treaty Monument at Waitangi in the Bay of Islands, possibly taken in the late nineteenth or early twentieth century. The monument, which was built circa 1880-1881, is surrounded by a cast iron railing. A timber fence is visible in the background.

A note on the album page reads: Monument erected in memento of Treaty of Waitangi – on S. side of Waitangi River, Bay of Islands.
