About this object
View of the former residence of James Busby (1801-1871) at Waitangi in the Bay of Islands, possibly taken in the late nineteenth or early twentieth century. The photograph has been taken looking towards the main entrance to the house. The walls of the house are clad in weatherboard. The roof of the house is partly clad in corrugated iron and partly in shingles. Two people stand in front of the house with their backs to the camera.
A note on the album page reads: House of late British Resident (Mr Busby), Waitangi, Bay of Islands. Built.
