About this object
Postcard view, possibly showing Poverty Bay.
The photograph appears to have been taken from the entrance to the Tūranganui River, Gisborne, looking across the bay. In the midground, two people sit on the end of a pier or breakwater. The photograph appears to have been taken around dusk as the sun is low in the sky.
There is a note on the back of the postcard addressed to Mrs R Martin Smith, Napier, from one of her children. The note is dated 19 September 1909.
Photographer, Lawrence Anderson Ellerbeck.
Date unknown.
