A description of the scene has been pasted onto the album page. It reads: The turbulent waters of the Whakaheke rapids. The swiftly flowing waters of the Waikato River rush over a rocky gorge for a distance of a quarter of a mile at this spot, lashing the water into a milky-white foam. The picture was taken near the thermal wonderland of Orakei-Korako, some miles south of Rotorua.
