A description of the scene has been pasted onto the album page. It reads: Where the Māori's tribal affairs were discussed. The Whare Runanga, or meeting house, in which all members gathered. This fine specimen of Māori building, beautifully carved and painted, is to be seen in the model Pā grounds at Whakarewarewa, Rotorua and is proving of absorbing interest to the lady visitor in the doorway.
