About this object
A hand coloured photograph of an unidentified boy sitting on the shore of Westshore Beach, Hawke's Bay. Part of an album of coloured scenery images.
A description of the scene has been pasted onto the album page. It reads: Facing up to the problems of life. "A sea captain or a bank manager?" The thoughtful expression on the High School boy's features suggests an earnest inward deliberation of the advantages and disadvantages of the suggested vocations. This splendid close-up was secured by the camera among the rocks on the beach at Westshore on a sunny January day, 1937.
Photographer, unknown.
