A description of the scene has been pasted onto the album page. It reads: Snow clad mountain tops. This peep at the Ruahine Range was taken from among the foothills at Makaroa, some 20 miles inland from Waipawa in the North Island.
The highest point in the range, known as Hill 66, can be seen in the centre of the picture.
