About this object
View of Butcher Brothers (fellmonger and woolwash), thought to have been taken in the 1920s.

The premises are thought to have been located at the intersection of Gloucester Street and Tannery Road in Greenmeadows. In the foreground, four men stand in a yard surrounded by fleece. The man second from the left is thought to be the boiler attendant, Tommy Bailey. The man to his right is noted as being the Foreman, Rowley Lascelles. The man standing in the distance on the left side of the photograph is thought to be Harry Butcher.

The building located in the centre of the photograph is possibly the wash building with the boiler house located at the rear. The building on the extreme left is possibly the office. The building on the right is thought to have been used for dye pulling and dry skins.
