About this object
View of the Napier Branch of Kirkcaldie & Stains on the corner of Hastings Street and Emerson Street, possibly taken around August 1902.
The photograph has been taken from Hastings Street looking south. The two storey building has been decorated with flags, ribbon, and greenery, possibly in celebration of the coronation of Edward VII. The National Bank of New Zealand is located on the opposite side of the intersection. Further along Hastings Street, the premises of John McVay (saddler and harness maker) is visible. A crowd has gathered at the intersection.
Photographer, unknown.
