The photograph has been taken from an elevated position looking east along one side of the street. In the right foreground are the premises of ironmonger J J Toscan. The name A H Wilson also appears on the awning of the building. A bicycle is parked outside of the shop.

Further down the street are the premises of Ross and Glendining Limited (warehousemen and manufacturers) and Blythes (drapers and furnishers).
