About this object
View of Pigeon Island in Dusky Sound taken on 29 April 1905.
The photograph has been taken from the shoreline of a bay. A boat shed built by Richard Treacy Henry (1845–1929) is visible on the far side of the bay. Henry is credited with pioneering the transfer of endangered birds from predator-prone mainland habitats to island sanctuaries.
A boat ramp is located to the left of the boat shed.
Photographer, Russell Duncan.
