Aerial view of Hastings taken following the Hawke's Bay earthquake on 3 February 1931.

Among the buildings that are visible in the photograph are the Tribune Limited building, which stands on the corner of Karamu Road and Queen Street, and the National Bank, which is located on the opposite side of Karamu Road.

Smoke from the fires that broke out in the city following the earthquake can be seen.
