About this object
View of the National Tobacco Company factory, Ahuriri, taken from the corner of Bridge Street and Ossian Street, looking towards Napier Hill.

The front wall of the building, which was constructed in brick, collapsed as a result of the earthquake. Timber posts have been erected along the front of the building to support the roof. A motor car is parked in the foreground.

The date 5 February 1931 is handwritten on the back of the photograph.
