A head and shoulders carte de visite photographic portrait of an unidentified woman. The woman wears a dark dress with small round buttons. At her neck she has a white decorative collar with a large brooch at the front centre. She wears a white headdress, possibly lace.

The woman is turned slightly to her right. Her gaze is slightly lowered and does not meet the camera.

The woman is possibly a friend or member of the Russell Duncan family.
