View of the Nurses' Home, corner of Spencer Road and Napier Terrace, Napier.

The Nurses' Home completely collapsed as a result of the Hawke's Bay earthquake on 3 February 1931, killing several nurses. The photograph records the remains of the structure. A group of five men stand amid the collapsed masonry. A note on the back of the photograph states that they are in the process of removing bodies from the site.
