About this object
A photograph depicting a headstone that reads: In Memory of Charles Combs Kenny. Died October 23 rd 1871 Aged 20 Years. Erected by his brother Officers of the Electric Telegraph Dept as a mark of esteem.
The tombstone and grave are bordered with chains set between wooden pickets. The headstone has a Dunedin stonemason's mark. The photograph appears to have been taken in Napier.
The man is possibly a friend or member of the Russell Duncan family.
