Brief Description
Land deed signing over the Kahauroa Block number 1 from Mihi Rapuke, Paora te Apatu, Maraki Kohea and Apirana Whakaheno to John Gibson Kinross. Signed in Gisborne and dated 5 January 1870.

Deed states that the Block is in the district of Wairoa and is bounded by Kahauroa Creek to the north east, the Marumauku Stream to the east, Kahuitara Block number 1 to the west and by Kauhauroa Block number 2 to the south west. Includes a small map showing these boundaries

George Buckland Wongau is listed as the interpreter and witness for the deed. Justice of the Peace James Curling is listed as a witness to duties for the land being paid on 8 May 1875. Total sum paid is £111.10 for 222 acres.
