About this object
A studio portrait photograph of Ferdinand De Lisle (left) and Harold Hyde (right) in the military uniforms of the Hawke's Bay Mounted Rifles, 1908.

The two young men aged 14 and 12 years old are dressed in uniform with caps and boots. Their right hands hold the bugles which are attached to their bodies by a chain placed diagonally across their bodies, resting on their left hand shoulders. Their left arms are held at their sides.
