About this object
A group portrait photograph of Dr Frederick Irving De Lisle and his sons Rodolphe De Lisle seated at the left and Ferdinand De Lisle seated at the right of the image.

Dr De Lisle is seated in the centre of the image holding a pipe and looking directly at the camera. Both his sons look toward the right of the image, their gazes do not meet the camera. The studio portrait was taken in 1914, just before Ferdinand De Lisle left with the 9th Hawke's Bay Regiment for World War One. There is an inscription on the back of the photograph noting his participation in Gallipoli.
