About this object
A studio portrait photograph of L D Bestall in Church Army uniform. Bestall is looking directly at the camera wearing his uniform hat, jacket shirt and tie. There are Church Army badges visible on his hat and jacket lapels. He also wears Medical Corps Decorations from the First World War where he served in France. The photograph is believed to have been taken in 1941 before Bestall's deployment to the Maadi Camp in Cairo. With his training in the Anglican Church Army, he was responsible for the spiritual and physical welfare of New Zealand soldiers.
