A view of the Octagon in Dunedin. Tramlines run through the Octagon. People can be seen walking along the paved footpath. Among the buildings that are visible are the premises of: Jolly, Connor and Company, Printers; the New Zealand Tablet Company; Goldstein and Moller, Jewellers; E T Wood, Accountant; W G Geddes, Undertaker; and the Oban Hotel. The edges of the photograph have been printed with a soft vignette.
