Book of lectures notes written by nurse Violet Powley when she was training to be a maternity nurse at Napier Hospital.
Her handwritten notes cover such subjects as puerperium, abdominal palpations, nurses duties during labour, mechanism of vertex presentation, prolapse of cord, breech presentation, causes of sub involution, lochia, lactation, general treatment, factors of labour, haemorrhage, phlegmasia alba dolens, eclampsia and abnormalities of pregnancy. In many cases she has written the name of the lecturer beside the information.
The notes are dated from 14 April 1931 - 8 July 1931.
