About this object
A view of Te Mata Homestead in Havelock North, thought to have been taken in October 1916. The photograph has been taken from the front lawn, looking towards the main entrance. The two storey house is clad in weatherboard. A verandah runs the full length of the front façade. Ivy hangs from the balustrades on the balcony.
Six people pose for the photograph in front of the house. They are identified on the back of the photograph as: Miss Renai, J M B, Lizzie, Pat White and Hazel. The woman on the far left and the young boy who stands second from the right both hold binoculars. The man second from the left and the young girl on the far right each hold a pair of white flags. The remaining two sitters are seated. None of sitters face the camera.
Photographer unknown.
