View of Napier Terrace, Napier, taken looking west.

In the distance, the old Napier Cemetery is visible along the right side of the road. Behind the cemetery are the Napier Botanic Gardens and the Nurses’ Home. Completed in 1930, the Nurses' Home collapsed during the Hawke's Bay earthquake in February 1931.

A note on the back of the photograph states that the picture was taken in 1931.
