View of a rural landscape.
The landscape is identified on the back of the photograph as Wallingford, Waipukurau. The station was developed by John Davies Ormond (1831?–1917) following the purchase of land in the area in the 1850s. In the 1890s, the station passed to his youngest son, John Davies Ormond (born 1873).
The photograph provides a general view of the station, with the Wallingford homestead and several other buildings visible on the left side of the photograph. A river or stream is located to the right of the station complex. In the foreground, a man poses for the photograph. He is seated on the ground.
