Attached to reverse of letter are notes on the proceedings of a meeting at the Napier Courthouse dated 21 September 1882 and presided over by George Preece, Resident Magistrate of Napier.

Note states that the Courthouse meeting intended to distribute land amongst local Māori and that Preece explained the reasons for allotting the land to them at Ruataniwha North. Note continues by separating the land into Block A and separate lots with individuals names, their associated places and acreage allotted.

Note continues with the objections of individuals regarding other individuals included in the process and acreage allotted. Preece closes the meeting by saying that he will confer with Mr Cooper as he does not wish to make unjust decisions in the matter.
