The book records the monthly meetings, finances, competitions and practices of the Brigade.

Glued to the inside back cover is a sheet titled: Rules and Regulations of the Spit Volunteer Fire Brigade. In the back there are also lists of Volunteers who have pledged themselves to abide by and observe the rules and regulations as well as attendance rolls.
