About this object
View of houses, thought to be located at the foot of Milton Road, Napier, near Clive Square.
The photograph has been taken in the aftermath of a landslide that occurred as a result of the Hawke's Bay Earthquake in 1931. The landslide has caused one side of the villa at the centre of the photograph to lift upwards, separating the building from its foundations. The villa on the right of the photograph has been pushed onto the road. A group of people stand on Milton Road examining the damage.
Photographer, George Goldsworthy.
