b) Memorandum from Richard John Gill to George Preece and dated 18 August 1886. Gill refers to Preece's letters dated 7 and 14 June 1886 on the matter of the Wairoa Block being purchased four years ago and that Crown Grants have been authorised and that reserves have been set aside for the Urewera tribe in the Wairoa, Tukerangi and Tarauaraua Blocks.
