View of the T & G Building, on the corner of Marine Parade and Emerson Street, taken from Marine Parade.
Designed by Atkin and Mitchell, construction of the T & G Building took place between 1935 and 1936. At the time that the photograph was taken, the main structure of the building had been built. The dome remains surrounded by scaffolding. An advertisement for W M Angus, Builder and Contractor, appears on the corner of the building. The South African War Memorial (1906) is located in the foreground. Several bicycles are parked in front of the building site.
