About this object
A head and shoulders studio portrait of Mrs Elizabeth Balfour of Glenross, circa 1876. Mrs Balfour, née Roberts, was the wife of David Paton Balfour.

In this photograph she is aged about 25 or 26 years of age. She has her hair parted in the middle and tied back. She is wearing a high collared dark dress with prominent buttons. She wears a brooch and floral arrangement at her neck.
