Booklet produced for new employees outlining the staff pension scheme they can contribute to dated March 1973.
An extra leaf of paper has Another has been inserted into the front page of the booklet which reads: To all Members of the Pension Fund - This booklet gives information about the new pension scheme which will be in operation from 1 April 1973. Benefits are substantially better than those of the old scheme, the main improvements being: - A. Pensions are to be based on final salary, which will ease the minds of all worried by inflation. Furthermore, once payable, pensions will continue for five years certain. B. Death in service benefits are much better, especially the provision for widows. All members of the old scheme, which is being terminated, are invited to participate in the benefits of the new, and you should complete the form of application for membership and return it through your manager. You are asked to make a contribution, but you might like to know that the contribution to be made by the Company will be almost double that made by members.
