Brief Description
A letter written by Anthony Webb to his mother and father from Trent College in Nottingham, dated 29 May 1880.
Anthony Webb writes that there is a measles outbreak at his school at Nottingham and Stockingford. He hopes he does not catch it but a youth who sits next to him in form and another who sits with him at table have caught the disease. He reports that there are about 12 fellows and 1 master in the sanatorium.
He also writes that he played in a cricket match - his team scored 225 and the other team 70 for three wickets. He thinks he is getting better at cricket and swimming. He reports that they had the Hallelujah Chorus as an anthem with the organ accompanying, but that many of the choir are in the infirmary.
Finally, he writes that he is using black edged paper because his auntie forgot to send it to him.
