View of the Vigor Brown residence in Westshore, Napier.
The photograph has been taken from the gardens looking away from the harbour. Two women sit on a flight of steps that lead down from the main house. The woman at the top of the steps is identified on the back of the photograph as Mrs Nancy Scott (née Forsyth). The woman at the base of the steps is identified as an English visitor.
A note attached to the back of the photograph identifies the building in the middle distance as the Summer House. This building was on a pivot so that it could be turned to face the sun.
