About this object
The photograph shows a gentleman setting up hoses to water the gardens located opposite the Napier Courthouse on Marine Parade. The gardens were built after the 3 February 1931 Hawke's Bay earthquake. The Colonnade and the Tom Parker Fountain have not been built at the time that the photograph was taken. The Napier Courthouse can be seen on the right with a portion of the Napier Athenaeum visible next to it. Norfolk Island pines line the road.
