About this object
The photograph shows a gentleman laying out the gardens opposite the Napier Courthouse on Marine Parade. The gardens were built after the 3 February 1931 Hawke's Bay earthquake. The Colonnade and the Tom Parker Fountain have not been built at the time the photograph was taken. The children's playground is in the forefront of the image.
