About this object
The photograph shows Hastings Street, Napier. The tram lines can still be seen in the middle of the road. Bennett's Building (H A Westerholm, architect) is on the right hand side of the photograph, followed by Hyde's building (Finch & Westerholm, architects), the Post and Telegraph Office (J T Muir, Government architect). The Caledonian Hotel is on the corner of Hastings and Dickens Streets.
Several of the buildings are new having been built after the 3 February 1931 Hawke's Bay earthquake.
Photographer, A B Hurst.
